Information You Send Directly
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search box is sent to the third-party service that supplies those results. McAllen Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries on its own servers. When you contact us, we receive the information in your message and use it to respond.
Information Collected Automatically
Like most hosted websites, the service records ordinary server-log details such as an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and timestamps. We review this in aggregate to maintain the site and understand page use. Cookies or comparable technology may be used for basic analytics and, when applicable, advertising measurement.
How the Information Is Used
We use this information to operate the service, resolve technical problems, measure traffic, and improve the reference pages. We do not sell lists of visitors or create individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Services
Links on this site lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search services. The policy of the outside service controls any information submitted there, rather than this policy. That includes sponsored search results supplied by a third party.
Who May Receive Information
Hosting and support providers process server logs on our behalf. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatically collected information described above. Information is disclosed only when valid legal process requires it, apart from those service arrangements.
How We Safeguard Information
The service uses an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the purposes stated here. There are no visitor accounts, so the site does not hold a visitor password or account profile.
Visitors Under 18
This service is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor sent information to us, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Information Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, or deletion of personal information a website maintains. Because this site retains very little, we will check the contact mailbox and applicable logs, then remove what we locate. Submit a request through the Contact page. Government-held records are outside our control: the Texas Public Information Act, Tex. Gov’t Code ch. 552, and record-specific confidentiality laws govern requests to Texas, Hidalgo County, and McAllen custodians.
